Then we reviewed how to write an opinion statement about our favorite letter in cursive.
You can write an opinion statement about your favorite cursive letter here:
We also took a little "quiz" to practice recognizing facts and opinions.
Here is the quiz, in case you want to try it, too:
Here is a stretching/moving brain break, in case you need one like we did at school.
We read a text passage about driverless cars.
Here's the text so you can read it, too:
Driverless Cars
In the 100 years since Henry Ford started making cars, many changes have happened in the way cars look and run. One thing that hasn't changed is that all cars need a driver. That is until now. Meet the driverless car! A car with no driver could make a huge change in the way we travel. Why would someone want a car if a computer does the driving? Well, it would give blind people a way to get around. Maybe even kids could take the car to the store. Also, driverless cars might be safer. The computer that controls the car can brake quicker than a human can. It can also tell what other cars are doing faster than a human driver. That could stop cars from crashing. Driverless cars are still a few years away, but maybe by the time you're ready for a driver's license, you won't need one!

Now that you've read the text, you're task as a reader is to recognize what the topic of the text passage was and support the main idea with three key details.
This picture might help you to better understand what I mean:
We practiced and reviewed spelling words with the short /a/ sound.
Here are some videos that we watched for fun:
