We started our day by working on a sheet that has 14 questions. It looks like this:
Students are only required to do ten of the fourteen questions, but of course, you could choose to do ALL of them! If you would like me to see your work, ask your grown up to take a picture and send it to my email address. Thanks!
We continued practicing the short a sound in several different words today. We used Boomwhackers to tap out the spelling words. What is a fun or different way that you could practice your spelling today?
After PE with Ms. Furniss, we read a text passage about apples.
We read it out loud, together, and then we talked about what we noticed and what surprised us from the text. You can share your answer with me, too.
Then we wrote an opinion word web about apples.
We finished with writing opinion statements supported by a reason. Most of us chose to use the power word "because" to support our opinion statement with a reason.
We rolled a die that has these three choices on it: food, fitness, and fun. Based on what showed up on the top of the die, we wrote two sentences. The first sentence was an opinion statement. The second sentences was the reason for our opinion. For example: I don't like to play soccer. I don't like to play soccer because it makes me hot and sweaty. or I think that I could eat pepperoni pizza every day of my life. I think it is so good because of the flavor in the pepperoni slices.
You could do the same thing, if you'd like. Here's a way to share it with me:
